The Department

A computer science campus carved into the mountains

Founded in 2006, the Department of Computer Science & IT at Bhaderwah Campus has grown into a serious technical learning centre — three advanced computer laboratories (including dedicated drone and IoT setups), networked workstations, an auditorium, smart lecture halls, and a library stocked with computer books, software and audio-visual learning material.

The teaching faculty is young and hands-on, and is regularly backed by senior faculty from the University of Jammu's main Department of Computer Science & IT — one of the oldest CS departments in the region. The department also runs its own Ph.D. programme, and hosts conferences, workshops, summer schools and faculty development programmes through the year.

  • Active Ph.D. research in AI, Deep Learning, Machine Vision, Bio-informatics & Cloud Computing
  • 15+ MCA batches placed across government and private-sector IT roles

Why MCA Here

Four reasons this department is worth the climb

Labs built for the next decade

Three networked computer labs, including dedicated drone and IoT setups and high-computing workstations — not just rows of desktops.

Taught by active researchers

Faculty supervise the department's own Ph.D. programme in AI, deep learning, machine learning and many more disciplines — research bleeds into the classroom.

One semester, one real project

The entire final semester is reserved for project work — no lectures, just solving real world Applications.

A campus that empties the inbox

Small batches, a residential hill-town setting, and a valley nicknamed Mini Switzerland — focus comes easier here.
