A 2-year programme for future technology leaders.
Founded in 2006, the Department of Computer Science & IT at Bhaderwah Campus has grown into a serious technical learning centre — three advanced computer laboratories (including dedicated drone and IoT setups), networked workstations, an auditorium, smart lecture halls, and a library stocked with computer books, software and audio-visual learning material.
The teaching faculty is young and hands-on, and is regularly backed by senior faculty from the University of Jammu's main Department of Computer Science & IT — one of the oldest CS departments in the region. The department also runs its own Ph.D. programme, and hosts conferences, workshops, summer schools and faculty development programmes through the year.
Bhaderwah valley, where the campus sits
Three networked computer labs, including dedicated drone and IoT setups and high-computing workstations — not just rows of desktops.
Faculty supervise the department's own Ph.D. programme in AI, deep learning, machine learning and many more disciplines — research bleeds into the classroom.
The entire final semester is reserved for project work — no lectures, just solving real world Applications.
Small batches, a residential hill-town setting, and a valley nicknamed Mini Switzerland — focus comes easier here.
The essentials, laid out like a course manual — because that's exactly what it is.
*Eligibility, fee structure and the entrance-test pattern are set by the University of Jammu and revised periodically. Always confirm exact figures against the current year's official admission notification before applying.
Workshops, IT tours, cultural events, Sangam fest, and more — a vibrant campus life beyond academics.

Regular hands-on workshops on emerging technologies, cybersecurity, and industry-relevant skills.

IT company tours and industry exposure visits to bridge the gap between academics and industry.

Celebrations, cultural programs, and student activities throughout the academic year.

Departmental excursions and recreational outings in the scenic Bhaderwah valley.
Locals call it Mini Switzerland, or Mini Kashmir — either way, it's an unusually scenic place to spend two years getting a computer science degree.

An alpine meadow at roughly 10,000 ft

A wide meadow split by a glacial stream and ringed by deodar forest.

A high-altitude pasture often called "the crown of Bhaderwah," set along the pilgrim route to Kailash Kund.

A Dogra-era hill fort built in 1733, overlooking the town, with a small museum of local artefacts.

The valley's serpent-deity shrine and a cave temple fed by a natural spring — central to Bhaderwah's identity as the "Land of Snakes."
Most of these are a short drive from campus.
A free weekend here looks very different from a free weekend almost anywhere else.

A dedicated team of faculty members and technical staff committed to quality education in computer science.
Faculty names and designations are updated periodically by the University. Please confirm current details on the official department website before applying.
