The department of Computer Science & IT of the Bhaderwah Campus is a major learning centre and has a rich infrastructure in terms of 03 computer labs (including specilized drone lab., IoT lab.) equipped with latest computer systems, workstation, auditorium, smart lecture halls and all other amenities which are essential for technology oriented courses. Till date the department has produced 14 batches of MCA and placed in various Govt. & Private sectors. The alumni of the department have excelled in different spheres of society. While most of the students are applying their learned skills in jobs of corporate & govt. sector, many students are perusing higher research degrees like Ph.D and Post-doc. The department is also offering Ph.D. program to the students and is also hosting conferences, workshops, summer schools and faculty develment programs from time to time. The Dept regularly organised workshops. IT tours, faculty development programes, conferences, tech fest, etc.
The MCA curriculum is designed to develop all round capability in the students which enable them to get absorbed in Business organization, IT industry, R&D centers and Educational Institutions. Out of the six semesters, the last semester is devoted for Project work which is to be undertaken by the students in an organisation of good repute developing software systems. The MCA is a regular course and a student admitted to this course shall not engage in any business or profession or vocation during the tenure of the course.
For admission to Master Degree Programme in Computer Applications (MCA) a candidate to be eligible, must have passed the qualifying Bachelor Degree examination in the discipline of Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering, or Technology with atleast 50% of the aggregate marks (40% for Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates). Selection for admission to the programme shall be made through an Entrance Test as per programme to be notified by the concerned department.
