The Department of Computer Science & IT, Bhaderwah Campus, was established in 2006. It is a major learning center equipped with a rich infrastructure, including three advanced computer labs (specialized in drones, IoT, etc.), workstations, an auditorium, smart lecture halls, and all other facilities essential for technology-oriented courses.
Till date, the department has produced 15 batches of MCA who have been successfully placed in various government and private sectors. The alumni of the department have excelled in diverse fields of society. While many students are applying their skills in corporate and government jobs, others are pursuing higher research degrees, such as Ph.D. and post-doctoral programs.
The department also offers a Ph.D. program and actively hosts conferences, workshops, summer schools, and faculty development programs periodically. Additionally, the department organizes events like workshops, industrial tours, faculty development programs, conferences, and technical festivals regularly.

The MCA curriculum is designed to develop all round capability in the students which enable them to get absorbed in Business organization, IT industry, R&D centers and Educational Institutions. Out of the six semesters, the last semester is devoted for Project work which is to be undertaken by the students in an organisation of good repute developing software systems. The MCA is a regular course and a student admitted to this course shall not engage in any business or profession or vocation during the tenure of the course.
For admission to Master Degree Programme in Computer Applications (MCA) a candidate to be eligible, must have passed the qualifying Bachelor Degree examination in the discipline of Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering, or Technology with atleast 50% of the aggregate marks (40% for Scheduled Caste/Tribe candidates). Selection for admission to the programme shall be made through an Entrance Test as per programme to be notified by the concerned department.
