Two-Day Workshop on “Drone Technology” Kicks Off at JU's Bhaderwah Campus.
The Department of Computer Science & IT, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, in collaboration with iHUB Divya Sampark IIT Roorkee (A Joint venture of IIT Roorkee and DST Government of India) and technically supported by the “Jammu and Kashmir ACM Professional Chapter,” has launched a Two-Day Workshop on “Drone Technology and its applications.”. The workshop commenced today at the Computer and IT Bhaderwah Campus, drawing nearly 200 participants from various educational institutions, departments of Bhaderwah Campus, officials and jawans from the Indian Army, and the teaching and non-teaching staff.
Prof Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu, extended his commendations to the Bhaderwah Campus for organizing this workshop on a topic of significant importance. He expressed his hope that participants would actively engage, share knowledge, and utilize this platform to enhance their understanding of Drone Technology. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Mr. Harvinder Singh (IAS), Deputy Commissioner Doda, extended his congratulations to the Bhaderwah Campus for orchestrating such an event on a topic of paramount importance. He elaborated on the myriad benefits that drone technology offers in the contemporary era, emphasizing its significance in various sectors.
The Rector of Bhaderwah Campus and Patron of the workshop Prof. J. P. Singh Joorel in his message conveyed his appreciation to the Department of Computer Science & IT for spearheading this workshop. He underscored the workshop's role in equipping participants with valuable insights into drone technology. “This workshop promises to be an enriching experience, providing participants with valuable insights and practical knowledge in the field of drone technology,’ he added. Mr. Sunil Kesar (JKPS), Superintendent of Police (SP) Operation Doda, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor. He delivered a comprehensive discourse on the importance of drone technology, particularly in addressing security concerns. He emphasized the pivotal role drones play in current circumstances and highlighted their significance in ensuring safety and security.
Dr. Jatinder Manhas, the Convenor of the workshop, provided a detailed outline of the workshop's agenda through an insightful presentation. He emphasized that the workshop covers a diverse range of topics, including Introduction to Drone Technology, Drone Hardware and Software, Safety and Regulations, Hands-on Drone Flying Sessions, Applications in Agriculture, Aerial Photography and Videography, Search and Rescue Operations, Infrastructure Inspection, Environmental Monitoring, and Future Trends and Career Opportunities. Dr. Abid Sarwer, Co-Convenor of the Workshop, delivered a formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, collaborators, and sponsors for their unwavering support and contributions towards making the workshop a success.
Workshop on Faculty Development Program on Machine Learning Concludes at Bhaderwah Campus.

The Weeklong workshop Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the topic "Machine Learning, Theory, and Application with a Special Focus on Electroencephalography, Document, and Sign Gestures Analysis." Organized by the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, in collaboration with HRDC centre, University of Jammu, iHUB Divya Sampark, IIT Roorkee & LTU Sweden concludes here today.
The FDP took place from December 19th to December 23rd, 2023, and brought together educators, researchers, and professionals in the field of machine learning to explore the latest theories and applications, with a particular emphasis on Electroencephalography, document analysis, and sign gestures analysis.Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, in his message congratulated Bhaderwah Campus, particularly Department of Computer Science & IT, Bhaderwah campus for organization successfull weeklong workshop.The Chief Guest for the occasion was Lt Col Sameer 2IC 4 RR, who, in his address, commended Bhaderwah Campus and the Department of Computer Science and IT for organizing a workshop on such a crucial and relevant topic. The distinguished resource person for the program, Dr. Rajkumar Saini from Lulea University of Technology, Sweden, delivered a detailed lecture during the workshop. Dr. Saini's expertise in machine learning theories and applications, with a specific focus on Electroencephalography, document analysis, and sign gestures analysis, is expected to provide participants with a valuable learning experience. Proceedings of the Velidictory Function were conducted by Ms. Ayushi Kotwal, Research Scholar in computer science. Bhaderwah Campus Organized Training Programme on IOT Sensor Networks for the Students of the Various Educational Institutions.,
June 18 2023: Department of Computer science and IT of the Bhaderwah Campus in collaboration with iHUB DivyaSampark IIT Roorkee conducted Training program on IOT sensor networks for the students of the various educational institutions.
The training programme was jointly conducted by the Department of Computer science and IT of the Bhaderwah Campus and iHUB DivyaSampark IIT Roorkee on IOT sensor networks in the recent established research laboratory at Bhaderwah Campus. The training program is a part of the MoU executed between the Department of Computer science and IT bhaderwah Campus and iHUB DivyaSampark IIT Roorkee.
The training programme was conducted for the school Children, College and University students of the Doda district. Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof. Rahul Gupta , I/C Head Department of Computer science and IT of the Bhaderwah Campus Dr Jatinder Manhas experts from IIT Roorkee, faculty members of Computer Science Department Dr Abid Sarwar , Dr Neeraj Kumar , Dr Ajay Lakhotra, Dr Ashok , Ms Bablu Sharma, ERO Bahderwah Campus Arif Khateeb, Yasser Ali , Parvesh Singh, teaching and non-teaching staff of various educational institutions and Bhaderwah Campus were present on the occasion.
The training was conducted by the trainers from UniConverge Technologies Noida through physical mode. Speaking on the occasion Rector Bhaderwah Campus , Prof. Rahul Gupta said that the aim behind this training programme is to impart basis IOT sensor networks for the students of the various educational institutions. He said that such kind of programmes will help to aware the Students about latest technology being used in the field of Computer Science. Speaking on the occasion , Dr Jatinder Manhas said that the training part covers the acquaintance of the young students with the emergent technology of Iot devices. “The students were exposed to how to measure the moisture, air quality and object detection using IoT sensor networks, he added Dr Manhas further informed that the training was conducted on advance equipment of the IoT sensor networks and their applications in solving real world problems were also addressed. Department of Computer Science organized week-long IT Tour for the Students to IIT Roorkee.
Bhaderwah June 09 : Department of Computer Science & IT, Bhaderwah Campus organized week-long IT Tour for the Students of Department of Computer Science to IIT Roorkee. The week-long tour was organized in collaboration with iHUB, Divyasampark, IIT Roorkee. The Students of Computer Science were accompanied by Dr. Jatinder Manhas I/C Head Computer science Bhaderwah Campus who put a lot of efforts in making necessary arrangements for the trip along with Dr. Manish, CEO, iHUB, Divya Sampark, IIT Roorkee. During the weeklong trip , Dr Jatinder Manhas hailed the proactive support from Dr. Manish. Anand and his team members including Mr. Prateek Sharma and Ms. Lalita "He has not only helped in the management of this tour but also agreed to setup an advanced lab at Bhaderwah campus on three state-of-the-art-technologies i.e. Drone technology, IoT and AR/VR technology under iHUB Divyasampark, IIT Roorkee banner,.
Dr Jatinder Manhas also informed that it were due to the unending support of Dr Manish that iHUB, Divya Sampark, IIT Roorkee signed a formal MoU along with Rector, Bhaderwah Campus, Prof. Rahul Gupta. "This tour would not have been such a success without the active and ever ready support of Rector, Bhaderwah Campus. His supportive nature has been a source of constant motivation for all the employees of the campus," he added He further said that Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof. Umesh Rai has played an equally important role in motivating the department in carrying research in interdisciplinary fields as he has been a constant supporter of the same. Coming to the tour. The group comprised of 16 students, I/c Head, Dr. Jatinder Manhas, and Ms. Ayushi Kotwal, all from the Department of CS & IT, Bhaderwah Campus. During their visit, the group interacted with members of the Dtown Robotics Private Limited, which is a startup, that works in the area of drone and robot manufacturing. The students learned about the application areas of the drone and also learned, how to fly drones on a simulator. Thereafter, the students visited Robotics lab of the iHUB, Divyasampark, established at the Noida Campus of IIT Roorkee. The students also learned about how to make robots and also about the working and application areas of a walking robot. Dr. Manish Anand apprised the students about the different schemes and scholarships that one can get while pursuing his/her research. Along with this, he also shared his immense knowledge on some of the state-of-the-art-technologies, i.e., blockchain technology, cyber security, IoT, Drones, etc with the participants.
The students also interacted with Dr. Partha Pratim Roy from the CSE Department, IIT Roorkee. Dr. Partha shared his vast research experience with the participants and also allowed the students to interact with his research scholars. This helped the students to get insights of the level of research activities/efforts done at such a premier institute of the country and also motivated them for building similar kind of research aptitude. After this, the students visited the Fermicron lab in the Department of CSE, IIT Roorkee. The lab has been built under the startup project for making drones for farmers. This motivated the students to think about building their own startups. Finally, before leaving, the students and other participants took a tour of the important sites at the main campus of IIT Roorkee. Dr. Prateek from iHUB Divyasampark, IIT Roorke was the coordinator for the whole trip. During which, the students learned a lot about new and emerging technologies, and got a chance to interact with some of the highly eminent faculty members and research scholars from IIT Roorkee.

MCA Department of Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu today organized Induction, Fresher cum Farewell party, Nishkra, 2K13. Prof. G.M.Bhat, Rector, Bhaderwah Campus was the chief guest of the function. In his address Prof. Bhat welcomed the freshers and assured his full support and accessibility to the students and employees of the campus 24X7. He also blessed the outgoing students with his warm wishes and promised the due farewell at the right time.
The function started with the lighting the ceremonial lamp by the Rector Prof. G.M. Bhat, Academic Co-ordinator Mr. Kuljeet Singh, Incharge HOD MCA Mr. Sourabh Shastri, Incharge HOD IME Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Incharge HOD MBA Mr. Rohit Bhagat and Convener Students Welfare Dr. Rakesh Sharma. Incharge HOD, MCA Department Mr. Sourabh Shastri presented welcome address. Inspired by Prof. G.M.Bhat, based on his character and vision, a skit was presented by the new comers of MCA Department on the theme of Polythene and Smoking Free Campus, Bhaderwah, J&K State in the initial phase of the campaign, which was highly acclaimed by the audience. The audience also took an oath to go polythene and smoking free. The oath was administered by Dr. Rakesh Sharma which was taken by the audience and him. The students of MCA department presented colourful curricular activities like songs, mimicry, dance and poetry recitations. Dr. Rakesh Sharma, presented vote of thanks. On the occasion Mr. Cheering Tandup, Mr. Sunil Bhardwaj, Mohd. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Health and family welfare inaugurated one day regional seminar on the theme ‘Information Technology, Computer Research and Development – Emerging Paradigms in Modern World’ organised by MCA Department of Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu. In his address, Azad Congratulated Staff ,Teachers and Students of Bhadarwah Campus for their best efforts to organise such seminar in an institution which is still in its early stages of development. Azad also appreciated remarkable growth of Bhadarwah Campus in a short span of time. Azad also released the maiden book titled “Preliminary Objective Question Cluster” authored by Sourabh Shastri, Astt. Professor Bhadarwah Campus”. Prof. M.A Malik and Prof G.M.Bhat, in their address, pointed out the significance of the seminar in generation and dissemination of knowledge. Rector Bhadarwah Campus thanked Naresh Gupta, MLC for donating 15 lakhs to Bhadarwah Campus out of his Constituency Development Fund. MCA Department of Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu organized Tech Quiz ‘QUEST-2013’, in which five teams participated. The students who took part in the Tech quiz ‘QUEST-2013’ included Arun and Kalicharan of MCA 4th semester, Pranav and Aizaz of MCA 2nd semester, Suhail and Kanchan of MCA 4th semester, Anil and Balvir of MCA 2nd semester and Narinder and Dinesh of MCA 4th semester. The Tech Quiz ‘QUEST-2013’ was an audiovisual treat. There were four rounds. Buzzer round was very interesting. Students appreciated the academic enrichment through this innovative quiz. Audience too got a chance to participate and won prizes. It was attended by faculty members of Bhaderwah Campus and students of MCA Department. The team of Arun and Kalicharan won the Tech Quiz ‘QUEST-2013’. The team of Dinesh and Narinder won the second prize while team of Suhail and Kanchan won the third prize. A solo song by Dinesh student of MCA 4th semester and a skit by MCA 2nd semester were also presented at the occasion. Prof. M.A.Malik, Rector Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu inspired the students and suggested them to take part in co-curricular activities in addition to their academics. Dr. Neeraj Sharma, I/C Head, IME Department, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, said that in the era of competitions, it is important to organize such programmes to prepare the students for bigger competitions. Chhering Tendup, Assistant Professor , IME Department, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, said that such competition will help the students in a long way ahead in facing the challenges of the Tech world. A series of guest lectures were arranged for the students of MCA at Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University to provide the insight about the current IT scenario and the emerging requirements of the industry. Mr. Tasleem Arif was the subject expert. Mr. Tasleem Arif, Assistant Professor, Department of I.T, BGSBU, Rajouri highlighted the importance of skill development to bridge the gap between education imparted and industry requirements. He informed the students that plethora of opportunities are available for youth that they can take benefit from. Besides, he discussed in detail the Non-linear Data Structures to the students. Mr. Sourabh Shastri, I/C Head MCA Department, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu welcomed the subject expert to the department and said that such interactive lectures will be arranged to aware the students with the latest developments in the field of Computer Science & I.T. He thanked the guest faculty. During the sessions, Bablu Sharma, Amit Sharma, Preeti Rajput, Muzaffer Hameed and Yasser Ali were also present.
MCA Dept, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, organized a seminar on Information and communication technology on 1st of March,2013 in the premises of the department. In the seminar various speakers including faculty members and students expressed their views. The programme commence with the welcome note of the I/C Head of the Dept Sourabh Shastri who highlighted various aspects of emerging technologies. Mrs. Bablu Sharma ,Ms. Nidhi Sambyal, Ms. Preeti Rajput, Mr. Amit Sharma and Mr. Muzaffer Hameed were the faculty members who grace the occasion with their presence. Dinesh, Narinder, Shubham, Neha, Kanchan, Jayoti, Ankush, Bharat, Aditya, Suhail, Rachit, Akash, Kalicharan, Arun were the speakers of Semester 4th from the Dept of Computer Science & IT. They shared their views on various topics including Quantum Computing, Cloud Computing, grid Computing, NFC, ATM, E-governance. The participation were also given certificates where Suhail & Rachit bagged first position, Kalicharan & Arun bagged second position and bharat & aditiya stood third in the seminar.
