The School of Management Studies, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, organized an industrial visit for MBA students to Chenab Textile Mills, part of Sutlej Textiles and Industries Ltd., a renowned company in the K. K. Birla Group.
The visit aimed to introduce students to the production and manufacturing processes in the industry. During the visit, faculty members engaged in a productive interaction with Mr. Umesh Gupta, Executive President, and Mr. Manoj Jha, Vice President of Chenab Textile Mills.
Ms. Kanika Sambyal, Senior HR Officer, gave a detailed presentation, explaining that Chenab Textile Mills, established in 1962, is one of the largest and oldest industrial units in the region. Initially having a capacity of 12,600 spindles, the mill now operates with over 2,34,600 spindles, producing synthetic blended grey and dyed yarn, cotton dyed yarn, and mélange yarn. She also shared that the mill had been awarded the prestigious USTERISED Trademark by Uster Technologies AG, Switzerland, signifying the company's excellent quality management systems
The visit was organized under the guidance of Prof. Rahul Gupta, Rector of Bhaderwah Campus, who appreciated the efforts of the TBS faculty for initiating such an opportunity and thanked the leadership of Chenab Textile Mills for providing students with valuable learning experiences.
Accompanying the students were Mr. Mohammad Avais (Head of Department), Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj, Dr. Rohit Bhagat (Placement Coordinator), and Dr. Umesh Choudhary. Overall, the industrial visit was a resounding success and a significant learning opportunity for the students.
