TBS, Bhaderwah Campus organizes seminar in “Entrepreneurship Development” to celebrate Vishav Udyamita Diwas (2023)

The Business School (TBS) at Bhaderwah Campus organized a seminar on ‘Entrepreneurship Development in Jammu and Kashmir’ to celebrate World Entrepreneurship Day 2023, in collaboration with the Students for Holistic Development of Humanity Foundation (SHoDH). The event was supported by various stakeholders, including civil administration, banks, universities, local entrepreneurs, and development organizations.

The seminar was led by Professor Rahul Gupta, Rector of Bhaderwah Campus. The chief guest, Dil Mir Choudhary (Additional District Commissioner), emphasized the growing potential of youth in the region and encouraged them to pursue entrepreneurship. Guest of honor, Vinod Kumar (Superintendent of Police), urged the audience to focus on job creation.

The event featured insightful presentations by experts such as Dr. Rohit Bhagat, Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj, and various entrepreneurs, including Abdul Gaffar Bagwan, Bharat Bushan, and Zaheer Khan, who shared their success stories and highlighted the business opportunities in the region. Financial experts from J&K Bank and HDFC Bank also discussed funding schemes for new ventures.

The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Umesh Choudhary, the organizing secretary. The event was attended by faculty, students, and prominent figures from civil society.


TBS, Bhaderwah Campus organizes Induction Function (2022)

The Business School at Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, organized an induction function titled 'PRARAMBH-22' for the newly inducted MBA batch. The event began with a floral welcome for the guests by the faculty members of TBS. Professor Rahul Gupta, Rector of Bhaderwah Campus, formally welcomed the guests, faculty, and the MBA students. He congratulated the students for choosing The Business School, Bhaderwah Campus for their career and assured them of academic and administrative support for the smooth conduct of the program..

Dr. Mohammad Avais, Head of The Business School, presented a detailed overview of the department's achievements, highlighting the success of its students both academically and in the corporate world. The objective of the program was to help students acclimatize to the new academic environment and familiarize them with the institution’s culture..

The program featured an insightful session by Ms. Kanika Sambyal, Senior HR Head at Chenab Textile Mills, who emphasized that apart from academic knowledge, qualities like smart work, creativity, and out-of-the-box thinking are key in shaping students to be capable professionals for the corporate world.

An influential speech was delivered by Mr. Rishi Gupta, CEO of Money Value Added Pvt. Ltd., who discussed the importance of practical knowledge and training programs. He emphasized that while there are ample job opportunities, organizations seek individuals with the right skills..

Following the corporate session, an ice-breaking activity was held for the newly admitted MBA students, and they were presented with induction kits as a token of love and blessings from the invited guests.

Professor Sameer Gupta, Director of The Business School, was the guest of honor at the event. He shared his valuable academic and administrative experience and encouraged students to develop corporate-ready skill sets to meet the challenges of the business world.


The Business School, Bhaderwah Campus organises a Webinar on the eve of ‘National Consumers Day’

The objective of the webinar was to spread awareness among the participants about “Consumer Rights and Education”.

Professor Rahul Gupta Hon’ble Rector Bhaderwah Campus and patron of event welcomed all the guests, faculty members and the students of The Business Schoolas well as the participants from other institutions. Professor Gupta also congratulated TheBusinessSchool BhaderwahCampus for always taking new initiativesand enlightening students with the currentrelevant business concepts.

Mr. Raju Moza, Director and Founder RM Holdings Pvt. Ltd. was the resource person of the webinar. He is well known expert, influencer and a resource person across the country and has been in the Board of Directors of many globally renowned organisations including CPG BPM Pvt. Ltd., Navigant Pvt. Ltd. and Czentrix Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Moza enlightened the students about various aspects of consumer rights also made them aware about the protection of consumer interests.

Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj, Head of the Business Bhaderwah Campus elaborated the theme of the webinar and also briefed the participants about of Roler of Consumer Protection Act 2019 and its implications in the present context.

At the end Mr. Mohammed Avais, Sr. Assistant Professor in the department presented a formal vote of thanks and also assured the participants that the tradition of organising webinars and corporate lectures in the business school will continue.

The Business School, Bhaderwah Campus organizes Industrial Visit (Bhaderwah, December 10 )

The Business School, Bhaderwah Campus organized Industrial visit for the newly inducted students of MBA to provide them a practical exposure of various production related aspects of business organisations.

The department visited two reputed MNCsnamely Khandhari Beverage Pvt. Ltd. (coco-cola) and Lupin Pharma Ltd. for understanding working environment of their manufacturing facilities. Ms Ruchita Bakshi HR Head, Khandhari beverage ltd. gave a detailed presentation about the working of the organisation which is a highly automated plant and is equipped withmodern and advanced technology having a production efficiency of 650 cold drink bottles per minute and 1200 tetra packs per minutes respectively.

Similarly, Mr Dheeraj Dhawan, HR Head, Lupin ltd briefed the students about the organisation which is among the top 10 generic companies in the world having approximately 20,000 employees and $ 2.3 bn global revenue. The company has presence in more than 100 countries across the world.The students visited the production plants of both the companies and understood the different aspects of their production line and how companies are working on their backward and forward integration mechanism. During the visit students posed various questions related to production, marketing, Human Resource, financial management and R&D of these companies and how they are coping up with Covid-19 challenge.

Dr. Sunil Bharadwaj, Head of Department The Business School, Bhaderwah Campus coordinated the visit who interacted with the management people of the said organisation to know issues related to the training and placements of MBA students. He also thanked them for giving an opportunity to the students to get first-hand experience of various production facilities ensuring a long-term relation and cooperation with them.

Dr Rohit Bhagat, Placement Coordinator, Bhaderwah Campus along with Mr Mohammed Avais, Dr Umesh Chaudharyand Dr Atif Qazi participated in various discussions during the visit on CSR activities, environment protection, branding, horizontal and vertical production line etc and contributed for the smooth conduct of the industrial visit.

UGC sponsored Two Weeks “Refresher course on Entrepreneurship Development” 15-28, February 2021, jointly organised by The Business School,HRDC, and Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu concluded today with valedictory function.Prof. Sameer Gupta, Director The Business School, Coordinator of the Refreshers Course, welcomed the invited guests and participants to the valedictory programme. He emphasised that during theRefreshers Course an effort has been made to sensitise the participantsabout Entrepreneurship Developmentso that these faculty memberscan act as ‘Resource Persons’ in guiding and motivating young students and scholars to take up Entrepreneurship as their career.Prof. Sudhir K Jain, former Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, and Prof. Emeritus IIT, Delhi, was the Chief Guest in the valedictory function.Prof. S K Jain, who has served at the top administrative positions in reputed organisations in the country and has taught Intellectual Property Rights(IPRs) and Entrepreneurship in IIT Delhi for more than 25 years, enlightened the audience with the basic principles of starting a new venture. He further added that the Product Life Cycle Analysis is prerequisite for Business Opportunity Identification to get early mover advantage as done by Mr. Mahesh Gupta, Founder-Chairman of Kent RO Systems Ltd., India's leading water Purifier Company.Prof.Manoj K Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Chief Patron of the programme telephonicallyappreciated the efforts of organising team for organising a programme on a contemporary theme and the efforts made by them for its success. While addressing the audience,Prof. Rahul Gupta, Director Human Resource DevelopmentCentre highlighted the importance of such courses for the holisticdevelopment of the faculty members and about the proactive approach of the HRDC for planning and organising many such courses in future. Making the maximum out of lockdown period amidst Covid-19 pandemic and carrying forward their webinar series, The Bhaderwah Campus University of Jammu organized an important ‘Online Workshop/Webinar’ for the management students and faculty members of Jammu & Kashmir. Mr. Raju Moza, Founder R M Holdings, is associated with Academics as well as Industry interacted and guided the participating audience. Mr. Moza is a reputed speaker with top business credentials having more than fifteen years of Industrial experience.

Prof. Rahul Gupta, Hon’ble Rector Bhaderwah Campus and Patron of Online Workshop delivered the presidential address. He also talked about Stress Management which is critical for reviving the growth in the economy after the COVID-19 crisis.

Dr. Rohit Bhagat, faculty TBS Bhaderwah Campus and Co-Convener of the workshop discussed post covid stress and its side effects on the human body and suggested solutions like proper guidance, planning in advance, practicing exercises of evaluation, introspection, and more. Dr. Rohit Bhagat also discussed another topic and the advantages of recent announced budget and its implications and benefits towards Public Policy and Entrepreneurship Development in Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr. Atif Javed Qazi Lecturer TBS Bhaderwah Campus delivered the vote of thanks by appreciating the resource person for his presence and informative words and also congratulated the department for their teamwork in conducting such a successful workshop that has huge applicability in the recent era. The Business School, Bhaderwah Campus University of Jammu today organises Motivational Lecture by Mrs Geetika Kohli Amla and Mr Anmol Amla for the students of MBA, BBA and B.Com Hons. Mr Sunil Bhardwaj, Head of the Department welcomed the worthy guest, faculty members and the students of the Business School in the guest lecture. He briefed the audience about the theme of the lecture and asked the students to dream big and dare to fail because every day is a new opportunity for your life. He also shared the motivational story of Arunima Sinha, first female amputee to scale Mount Everest and Mount Vinson. The invited speaker is a well-known author, coach, poet and a trainer in the country. Her poetry books include Crooked Hyphens, Lucid Blood, Blossoms of India, Colours of Refuge and The Lost Sonnet are well documented and has earned a global reputation. Mrs Geetika Kohli Amla is presently a renowned member of the Poetry Society of India. Besides acting as a motivational speaker and as an effective trainer, the speaker is associated with a number of the national and international organisation for the promotion of poetry, art and culture and has represented the state of Jammu and Kashmir on many national and international forums. Mr Anmol Amla is a renowned musician of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking on the occasion he impressed upon the need for hard work and commitment for the realisation of one’s dreams. Many students of the departments like Mr Umar, Mr Akshit and Ms Babita actively participated in the role play organised during the session. The guest lecture was followed by an interactive session with the students and faculty members of The Business School, wherein all the students participated actively. The students posed several questions to which the speaker has answered very politely. The motivation for organising the event came from the support and guidance of Professor Anil Kumar Raina, Hon’ble Rector of Bhaderwah Campus. Professor Raina also congratulated The Business School for taking this initiative for making management education in the Bhaderwah Campus more dynamic and meaningful. The Business School, Bhaderwah Campus, organized management activity. The chief guest of the occasion was Prof. M A Malik, Rector Bhaderwah Campus. All the invited guests includes, Dr. Umesh Choudhary, Assistant Registrar, Mr. Rohit Bhagat, HoD MBA Deptt., Dr. Subash Chander, HoD English Department, Mr. Sourab Shastri, HoD, MCA Department, Mr Shayan Javed, IME departmet besides all the faculty members and students from different departments. The activity was organised by the management club group named 8-VICTORS and was well coordinated by all the faculty members of the department. In the onset, the theme of the whole event was introduced by Mr Sahil Bhagat, Student of MBA 2Third semester. The various activities included in the event were Policy Evaluation on the depreciation of Indian Rupee by Mr Mateen Wani, student of MBA first semester, Quiz Competition coordinated by Mr Vivek Singh Bandral, student of MBA third semester, Tower of Hanoi coordinated by Mr Dinesh Sharma, student of MBA third semester, Product Launch coordinated by Ms Princy Verma, student of MBA third semester alongwith Ms Sunali Sharma, student of MBA first semester and last but not the least the management games coordinated by Mr Vivek Singh Bandral, student of MBA third semester. Mr Manish Jasrotia and Ms Surbhi Sharma secured first position in quiz competition, Gowhar Mushtaq secured first position in tower of Hanoi and Mr Hardeep Charak got first prize in management game. All the faculty members from different departments of Bhaderwah Campus gave their valuable views regarding the event. The invited speakers include Prof. David Harkins from Huntington College, Tennessee, USA and Mr Jordon Peace, Financial and Acquisition Advisor of North-shore Capital Advisors Company from Tennessee, USA. Mr Jordon spoke about the fundamental of entrepreneurship and the complexities involved in starting a new venture.Prof. David in his lecture stressed upon self motivation and competitive spirit for achieving success.While speaking on the occasion, Prof. M A Malik, Rector, Bhaderwah Campus laid emphasis on entrepreneurial skills and innovative thinking backed by professional handling which provides a edge to the managers in this dynamic business world. He also congratulated TBS, Bhaderwah Campus for organising such interactive events. The Business School, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu has celebrated farewell party, HASTA LA VISTA on 20-04-2013. The chief guest of the occasion was Prof. M A Malik, Rector Bhaderwah Campus. All the invited guests includes Mr. Kuljeet Singh, Academic Coordinator, Dr. Umesh Choudhary, HoD MBA Department, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, HoD, IME, Dr. Subash Chander, HoD English Department, Mr. Sourabh Shastri, HoD, MCA Department besides all the faculty members from different departments.

The party was organised by junior batch of MBA of The Business School, Bhaderwah Campus and was well coordinated by all the faculty members of the department. The Party began with the lightening of the lamp by Dr. Umesh Choudhary followed by different activities like ramp walk, balloona bursting, music chairs, candle lightening, music chairs etc. On the basis of these activities Mr. Mohsin Akhter and Ms Kanika Sambyal were conferred as Mr and Ms MBA respectively. While speaking on the occasion, HoD, MBA Department Dr. Umesh Choudhary wished all the seniors students all the success in their future endeavours.
